April Lorenzen, Server Authority Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer
April Lorenzen co-founded FullScaleCommerce.com Inc., a web, database, and email hosting company. The company began operations in 1996 and was incorporated in 2000. April began programming in 1977. Her first article in a technology magazine was published in 1978, when she was 16. She has authored numerous published articles during her career which has included build/setup/repair of thousands of computer systems, small networks, and custom database work. She was the sole recipient of the IEEE International Photovoltaic Terrestrial Systems and Technology Award for research presented in 1991, and holds U.S. Patent 5,341,082.
April is best classified as a "creative engineer," who is particularly adept at successfully applying technological solutions to business problems. Her deep comprehension of the business implications of spam led her to formulate the Server Authority approach, one that helps ISPs save resources without losing wanted mail, while at the same time helps encourage legitimate businesses to make responsible use of the email channel.
Kenneth D. Beauregard, Server Authority Co-founder and VP, Systems and Software
Ken is the co-founder of FullScaleCommerce, Inc., where he is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining the company's server infrastructure, consisting of hubs, routers, and servers. He installs all systems and configures them for maximum performance and reliability. Ken is proficient in a variety of fiber optic, network, routing, computer, and web languages/platforms, and a variety of LAN/WAN systems, including Wintel, Sun, *nix, Perl, CF, TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and SNMP. Ken has been employed at Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T), since 1985, where he is currently an incoming material logistics engineer and process engineer for optical systems, including transmitters, receivers, and repeaters operating at up to 2.5 terabits per second.
Ken's strengths are in the underlying network infrastructure and systems required to support large, high-traffic systems. He is particularly adept at analyzing existing systems and creating/programming new reporting and processing systems that interface with those existing systems.
Petru Paler, Programming Manager
Petru Paler specializes in building applications that are scalable and secure. He works successfully with systems involving millions of records and high request rates. Petru understands DNS (Domain Name System) and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)--at the bit level and is highly proficient with email and website infrastructure projects. He participated in creating the backend of MyDomain.com, which hosts over 600,000 domains for DNS management and email forwarding. He assisted in integrating the technologies of MyDomain and NameZero when the two companies joined forces to provide domain registration and related services to over 2.6 million domains. Petru has six years of experience in C, C++, Python, Zope, SQL, Sendmail, Postfix, Qmail, security issues and *nix administration.
Greg Montgomery, Research Analyst
Greg Montgomery researches and analyzes the anti-spam industry and anti-spam solutions. Prior to joining Server Authority, Greg worked for a magazine wholesaler in Vermont, Country News, in administrative and technical positions. Greg also provides computer consulting for local companies and is pursuing a degree in Business Management from Keene State College. Greg is the editor of an anti-spam resource, The Montgomery Report.
Janice Rollin, Office Manager
Janice Rollin oversees internal administrative processes and activities, supporting the staff and managers at Server Authority. She has worked in a variety of administrative positions, including that of Operations Manager for Hensler and Associates Wealth Management. She is also currently attending the University of Michigan in pursuit of her BS degree.
