How you control and configure the Outbound Index
You can then subject the Unknown/Suspicious stream to further scrutiny using the anti-spam software you already have installed on your inbound server. Such further scrutiny may include content filtering/scoring, flagging as possible spam, challenge/response, etc.

Pass and fail "arguments" can include scores or custom response text, which may be optionally used in SMTP rejection notices, or inserted into headers to facilitate filtering or sorting. Click on the name of any check for a description of what the check does.
The Outbound Index infrastructure supports full participation by the anti-spam community through discussion groups, an open development environment, and developer support. It was created and is maintained by Server Authority, Inc. We have been using the Outbound Index database and tools successfully on production servers since July 2003 in an 800-account ISP environment.
